The camera is a bit shaky because it was very windy and there was some doppler indicated rotation in Bettendorf, IA across the Mississippi River (which is mainly where I had the camera pointed). If you listen closely you can hear the eerie howls of sirens going off from all directions. That wall cloud looked very ominous (almost touches the ground!) and right as the video ends you can see the camera kinda jolt down. There was a sudden draft of wind followed by a rear flank downdraft and a wall of sideways rain meaning something bad was about to happen. I got in my car and headed home. Enjoy!

A little video I'm pretty sure is about the girls where I live

They had to film these girls where I live....they just had to!

Two Thumbs Up Bitches!

The new "Bleed" video off the ObZen album from Swedish metal band Meshuggah.

The obZen album is probably my favorite out of them all. Save his daughter or himself. He chose his daughter. A drunk driver jumped a curb and was coming straight for Joseph and his daughter when, without thought, he grabbed her and held her above his head seconds before the car smashed into him pinning Joseph against an Iron fence. He died shortly after but managed to save his daughters life in the process.

From the Chicago Sun Times:

FELONY DUI CHARGES | Father's last act protected 4-year-old from crash

May 7, 2008
Recommend (64)

BY MITCH DUDEK Staff Reporter/mdudek@suntimes.com

With an out-of-control car bearing down, Joseph Richardson grabbed his 4-year-old daughter and held her up out of harm's way.

It was his last act -- and one that apparently saved his daughter's life.
Richardson, a 39-year-old father of three, was killed Monday evening by the car, driven by a man who police say was drunk.

The car pinned Richardson and his daughter Kaniyah against a wrought iron fence at 95th Street and Wentworth, police said.

Kaniyah survived and was listed in critical but stable condition Tuesday evening at Comer Children's Hospital, where a spokeswoman said she was doing well.

"He held the baby up to keep the car from destroying the baby, but it totally destroyed him," said Richardson's father, the Rev. L.V. Richardson.

Richardson was walking his daughter to a McDonald's for burgers at 6:40 p.m. Monday when a 1990 Chevy Cavalier jumped a curb and careened towards them, police said, citing witness accounts.

He grabbed his daughter just before the car slammed the two into the fence, police said.

Richardson was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.
The driver of the car, Angelo Thomas, 32, of the 200 block of West 95th Street, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence, police said. He was also cited with driving without a valid license or insurance.

Joseph Richardson, the father of two girls and a boy, all under the age of 11, was described as a devoted father. His other love was music. He was a gifted pianist and organist and performed in choirs at Cottage Grove Baptist Church and Greater Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, where his father ministers. His idols were Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder, his family said.

Daily Doom & Gloom

I'm going to start a new blog on my site. It's called "Daily Doom and Gloom" and I think you'll enjoy it. It's called "Daily" but we'll see how long that sticks. It seems like almost every day I hear about new things that can either harm or kill me. Stuff you and I use everyday, have been told is safe to use or safe to do, yet somehow turn out bad for us. Everyday there's something new you and I should fear and loathe so here it goes!

Your Daily Doom and Gloom for April 11th, 2008:

PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES!

That's right, that bottled water you drank at work today is not only killing you, but it's making you depressed.....as if your boring life and dreary job wasn't enough right? Our friends over at Daily Mail UK have the scoop....

The poison lurking in your plastic water bottle
By JO KNOWSLEY via Daily Mail UK

A Potentially deadly toxin is being absorbed into bottled mineral water from their plastic containers. And the longer the water is stored, the levels of poison increase, research reveals. As the sell-by date on many bottled waters is up to two years, scientists have now called for extensive further studies.

The research by world expert Dr William Shotyk - who has vowed never to drink bottled water again - will be published in the Royal Society of Chemistry's journal next month. It is sure to revive concerns about the safety of bottled water, the world's fastest-growing drinks industry, worth £1.2billion a year.

The tests found traces of antimony, a chemical used in the making of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, used by most mineral-water sellers.

Small doses of antimony can make you feel ill and depressed. Larger quantities can cause violent vomiting and even death. The study stressed that amounts of antimony were well below official recommended levels. But it also discovered that the levels almost doubled when the bottles were stored for three months.

Professor Shotyk, of Heidelberg University in Germany, said: "I don't want to shock people but here's what I know: Antimony is being continuously released into bottled drinking water. The water in PET bottles is contaminated."

He tested ground water and 15 types of bottled mineral water in his native Canada. The ground water contained two parts per trillion (ppt) of antimony. Bottled water had an average 160 ppt of antimony when opened immediately after bottling. But ground water stored in a PET plastic bottle had 630 ppt of antimony when opened six months later.

Professor Shotyk then tried the experiment in Europe, collecting 48 brands of water in PET bottles and water from its source in the ground at a German bottling plant. The water had four ppt of antimony before being bottled, the contents of a new bottle had 360 ppt and one opened three months later had a staggering 700 ppt.

Antimony finds its way into water by 'leaching' from the plastic in the same way that water absorbs flavour from a teabag. Health authorities said even the higher levels of antimony found are way below official safety guidelines, set at around six parts per billion by international environment agencies.

Elizabeth Griswold, director of the Canadian Bottled Water Association, added: "The levels do not pose a risk to humans. They are simply trace elements."

But David Coggan, a Southampton University-based epidemiologist who works with the Medical Research Council, called for further research into the findings.

He said not enough was known about the effects of antimony and how much had to be consumed before it became dangerous. Last year naphthalene, which can cause liver damage in high doses, was found in two bottles of Volvic mineral water. Bacteria which could leach into bottled water has been cited as a possible reason for rising levels of food poisoning.

So let me get this straight.....plastic from bottled water bottles can make me depressed and ill? Here I was thinking it was my job and pay check to paycheck lifestyle.

Anyone else?

So it's been awhile... I'd like to say I've been busy but I've just been lazy. I am working steady and still trying to pull my head out of the debt hole after going without employment for 2.5 months.

Not working for a couple months reminded me of a few things. One, not having money sucks. Having to borrow money just to get by sucks even more. But one thing that not working does for you is it gets you re-centered and re-focused. I hate to get off on a nostalgic rant here but does anyone else remember those days when you were younger? Life didn't seem too complicated and the most you had to worry about was if your bike's tires had the proper air to pull off that kick ass bunny hop off the curb or what kind of peanut butter you wanted on your sandwich on that pit-stop from being a retarded 12 year old kid in the neighborhood?

I find myself looking back on those times more and more. I miss it. I miss the freedom of being smaller and younger. Granted things weren't always peachy back then but I never used to watch the clock like I do now. Even when I'm home I find myself looking at 9 p.m. and thinking, "Seriously? Where the fuck did those 5 hours go?" I'm sure a lot of that has to do with my situation and where I work but regardless. I hate it. I just need to do something about it and I suppose bitching here is a start :)

This world needs an enema!

I really don't even know where to begin on this.

Ok, here's the scoop. This guy, who has likely never met Britney Spears and I bet if he did he'd be a goo stain on the pavement after her security was done with him, decided he would share his feelings about all of us "haters" and "blogger assholes" to the world concerning our (the public's) general treatment of said trouser trout.

I would rip this "guy" a new asshole for my own personal amusement but honestly, I think he's done enough for himself and this video shows just how much of an empty vessel this "guy" really is. He even threatens suicide if his fellow hollow human kills herself. I won't deny that the general population is a vampiric machine who feeds on the misfortune of others, hell, I'm completely guilty of this right now posting this. But the difference between me and them is a fine line between entertainment and well....entertainment.

There's just a couple problems I have with this shit ball. Number one. Do we really want to see a mother leave behind her two kids? Yes, yes we do. Why? Because I promise you they're better off without that waste of space. Number Two. There's a flaw in your plea for Britney boy-0. She's not like you and Me, which is why you care about her in the first place. If Britney Spearmeinthebutt was like everyone else....you wouldn't give a shit.

Regardless, watch this video....you may just learn how good you've actually got it, and be thankful you're not an empty shell. Don't live through others, be yourself and be proud of who you are.

LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE! pt.1

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Nice grab dumb ass

I know this is old, but here is a good example of why some people don't really deserve to live.

This retard thought he was reaching for an i-phone...

How to pig squeal (Fat ass with a cig and a beer edition)

Apparently there is a movement in the heavy music scene where pig squealing over some real shitty heavy music is somehow a talent. Oh yeah, I also went and saw Carrot Top and KA, both shows I highly recommend! Heres a few pictures, I'll try to get an album up at some point. Enjoy!

Ice Storm Update!

Well it continued to rain ice and snow throughout the night, these pictures were taken before we lost power for 8 hours or so. It was kinda freaky. It was quiet, little to no traffic and all you could hear was the howl of the wind, sirens, and trains.

The Ice Storm 2007

It's been raining ice for about 5 hours now. Looks like we have somewhere around a solid inch of ice coating everything, including my car shown here. Transformers are exploding and hell is breaking loose....or freezing over, depending on how you look at it.

The Quad Cities is "Under Siege!"

In an effort to make the weather entertaining rather than just boring and educational, the local weather stations were reporting the winter storm like it was some kind of battle update from the front lines.
